The BMW Hybrid SUV models
currently number one. The BMW
X5 SAV (sport activity vehicle) is the only
current BMW SUV on the books at it has yet to find a roll
out date.
The most exciting feature
of this hybrid SUV is that it uses high-performance super-capacitors
instead of the typical lithium-ion or nickel-cadmium battery
packs to deliver twice the performance as other electric
motors in its class.

Even though BMW has only one offering in the current SUV hybrid
lineup, they are busy developing hybrids in other areas as well.
Take for instance the BMW HR2, which is a hydrogen-gasoline
hybrid racecar that has recently set numerous land-speed records
for hydrogen vehicles.
Take also the BMW C-1 scooter hybrid that is a cross between
and automobile and a motorcycle. The C-1 scooter is being
marketed in Europe as a commuter alternative to crowded
public transportation.
BMW, the ultimate driving machine manufacturer, is even
rumored to have a 7-Series automobile inline for hybrid
technology. With the popularity of the sport utility vehicle
in the U. S. and growing momentum in the hybrid segment,
it can't be too long before several more BMW Hybrid SUV's
are announced. What's an ultimate driving machine without
a little green to go around?
